"Last fall I developed a searing pain in my left heel. I went to a foot doctor who diagnosed it as plantar fasciitis, more popularly known as a heel spur. I was treated with ultra-sound once a week for several weeks but there was no improvement. I changed my diet, eliminating sugar, empty carbs and saturated fats. I did foot exercises and foot baths as recommended by the doctor, bought special supportive shoes and added foot pads for good measure, but the pain did not subside and my mobility was seriously impeded. (I live in the city and usually walk a great deal.) This painful condition went on for many months.
In January, I made an appointment to see Maureen. I never had acupuncture treatments before but I thought I'd give it a try since I had tried everything else. The results amazed me--they were fruitful and fast! After only three treatments the pain in my foot was completely gone and now, eight months later, I am still pain free and able to take the long walks I love to my heart's content.

"I lost the vision in my right eye while on vacation in 2004. The result was a scarred optic nerve that limited the blood flow to the eye giving me limited peripheral vision.
The diagnosis of a bevy of experts in Waterbury and Danbury, Connecticut, and Philadelphia, PA, was optic neuritis or mini stroke. Western medicine was a steroid IV series that restored peripheral vision from no vision.
After two years of limited vision I took a supervised Field of Vision test then undertook a series of acupuncture treatment with Maureen to increase blood flow to the optic nerve.

"I am severely allergic to poison ivy. This summer I got it on my arms. For six weeks I was treated traditionally. I lived on Benadryl round the clock for the itch and swelling and I smothered my skin with topical ointments. It would not go away. Being a teacher, I knew I had to get rid of it by late August when school began. I would not be able to tolerate the "exhaustion" and "fogginess" from the Benadryl while trying to teach school. Since I always had positive results with acupuncture before, I decided to try it for this.
So, I made and appointment with Maureen. First, she inspected my tongue and took my pulses. I felt very much at ease with her suggestion that she could treat me with acupuncture and guasha. I think I was comfortable and confident because she was so comfortable and confident and she spent so much time explaining to me what was happening in my body. "Thank you for the acupuncture treatments you have provided to me over the past four months. In terms of my medical history, I had a facial trauma sustained at the age of ten. I had stitches on my jaw and also, it affected the lumbar spine. I fell seven times, fractured my left hand, and have a rotator cuff tear on my left arm.
